WoD Meetin
Soldi, day 73 of Summer, 548
While we were waiting for the meeting to start Himitsu tested her boosting range and
happily discovered that she can reach two exile lengths now! Nunul also seemed pleased
that he'd finally been able to get some fine puddleby eggnog, which was pretty late in
coming this year.
After the meeting we headed off for a fight in Snowy Dale. What fun! Our mystics
kept trying to conjur snowy Maha's for us, unfortunately unsuccessfully. We
got plenty of other snowy creatures though. We had a nice time partying in the snow,
making snow archers and throwing snowballs and eating Kiriel's donuts. Blaise was
even kind enough to buy me my first cup of Eggnog! What a treat!
We had a few close calls when too many critters of one kind or another fell upon us,
but none so dangerous that we had to call for extera help.
Mistress!
Soldi, day 52 of Summer, 548
Wheatstone and I discovered recently that we're being called Master and Mistress
by the towns folk now!
The Season of Bawkmas
This Bawkmas was lots of fun, I got to drink beer, and stand in line for Santa
Chicken, (He gave me some very nice grey pants that I then gave as a Bawkmas present
to another friend... it's all about sharing right? :-) ), went to a
Bawkmas party in the dance hall where there was great music (including 'Nothing' which
I discovered I quite liked!) by Coriakin, Xepel, Phiros, Laiy and others,
hunted the secretive potato, and got a present from Chef Haricot. What a great time!
(/ponder You know, that Bawkmas party was really a pretty wild time...)
Coriakin did that sexy thing with his throat sac... Laiy played upside down...
spriggin Malkor got drunk and bit Coriakin's stool in half... Xepel and Coriakin
might've come to blows... Santa Chicken gave out lots of loot... Catlin got very
very drunk and kept yaowling about how she mished her shweetie... There was loads
of beer and pretzles an beer an donuts an beer an cookies an beer an muffins an beer...
Mmmmmm what a party!
Oh I remember what happened after the party too... Hee... Wheatstone and I went on a hunt with
DaMoot, Calil, Deebo, and Jazz and on the way back from the Cemetary we all got
separated and lost in the marsh... Ick.
My Winds of Dawn Induction
Sombdi, day 16 of Summer, 548
Today I was inducted into the Winds of Dawn! Yay! The other dwarfs seemed pleased
to have a girl dwarf in the clan now. I hope they don't ostracize me for loving a thoom...
Wheatstone is just so... so... Thoomish... an' huggable... even if he does like
icky fish heads better than beer... What a wierdo. He was late to my induction meeting
too! I forgave him though since he was in plenty of time for the actual induction, and
he had a reasonable excuse, it was pooring buckets in the library, Kiriel was right,
they really ought to fix that roof...
I was amused, confused and slightly disturbed by the notes Althus wrote down on his
to-do list before the party. :-)
- Get riotously drunk at induction.
- Indiscriminately hit on random women and inanimate objects.
- Pass out and be dragged to library.
- Wake up several days later wearing underwear on head.
- Claim it was aliens.
- Sell book deal.
- Profit!
He generally seems like a very nice fellow though, and I don't think he got nearly as drunk
as he was planning, well... looking back, I recall that he did try to hit up Gnaroon, the Thoom
Induction lady, and well, oh, he did try to hit up that fern after Gnaroon rejected him...
and well, he did seem rather sick as he stumbled out, but no one had to actually chain him,
I think he made it to the library by himself... What a silly fellow! :-)
I'm getting ahead of myself though. After we'd finished up all the clan business
of choosing newbie of the week and discussing the upcoming hunt on KI, and uh stuff I forget...
we broke and ran down to the clan hut for my induction! I think I shivered as I walked
through the doors, and I know I walked out a much better dwarf than I went in.
Who wouldn't be improved by wearing a WoD badge? :D So I'm young and idealistic...
But after being hounded out of my home, chased by my family, exiled for defending my
foster sister... It's just wonderful to have a set of people to belong to again.
When Altir asked me who I wanted to induct me it was an easy choice. I love Wheatstone
dearly, but he'd just been inducted himself. I would have been proud to have Kiriel induct
me. But a dwarf's a dwarf. After seeing Altir squire Himitsu only a short while before...
Oh he's such a dwarf! I was honored that he was willing to perform my induction himself.
After Gnaroon handed me my badge everyone let off a clan yell! Yay! I'd come up with
my clan yell just that day, "Life Blown ye down? Let us Blow ya up!"
BOOM! er... heal-heal-heal. Not that I know how to use a moonstone or anything,
I've heard that they can explode if you're not trained properly! They're wonderful
devices certainly, but they seem awfully dangerous at the same time... Anyway,
at least I can keep the rats off of a body.
Everyone congratulated me and toasted me and there was lots of donuts and stout and
muffins. Kiriel's donuts were as wonderfully chocolatey as always (Wahoo! Sugary
treats, packed with energy!), and Altir's stout
was very stout! Just like him! Hmm. I wonder if Kiriel's secretly chocolatey? She doesn't
look it... But maybe she just has a pale candy coating! Hmmmmmm.
Altir handed me the first draft from the barrel too! He's such a gentleman dwarf.
Wheatstone on the other hand had saved me the last mug of stout from his induction
a few zodiacs before... What a non-beer appreciating Thoomish kind of thing to do!
Sweet, but I've sure got a lot to teach him about proper treatment of good beer!
It was a wonderful party though. If not for the beer I'm sure I'd remember more of it...
Everyone was quite drunk and staggering, even Delirium, who I hadn't thought was quite
the type for some reason. Kiriel related the story of Farhope, who through her staggering
at a previous induction party had actually accidentally left the clan by talking
to Galook when she was too drunk. :-D I don't think anyone got so drunk that
they fell this time. Hopefully next induction I will have found some hops so I can
make another keg of my own to share.
And then we all decided to go hunting in the Savanah. It was my first time there, and
quite fun. We went part way into a cave, and hunted the dunes too, where I had my first
encounter with a Large Sand Worm. It did Wheatstone in in one bite, poor fellow. I
think it hits me for about 60%, so I can't take two hits, but I can take one pretty
comfortably, with about 150 lessons from Evus. Kiriel says she bricks them, and
certainly I never saw either of the two we fought touch her.
Wow. Bricking a Large Sand Worm...
I had trouble hitting some of the giant crawlers and savanah maha's, but Himi was there
to help me out with her yummy chocolate flavored boosts. Mmmm chocolate Atkus!
Wheatstone said that he likes Haddock boosts better... fishy Thoom.
I also caught a shot of my favorite fishy Thoom trying to stare down a ferocious
palm tree that hit him between the eyes. Thooms are a little odd. ;-)
Drunken Hunting
Fordi, day 8 of Summer, 548
Today I started clanning to help Zorak who was fallen in South Forest. I wanted to
get to know him a little better, and talk with him about the problems he was having
with my hopefully future clan, the Winds of Dawn. Catlin was guarding his body when
we found him, too fallen for Wheatstone to raise. Fortunately Ashen came to help.
Once he was up we went for a quick rescue in North West Forest, and then hunted for
a bit to keep Catlin company. She was collecting coins for her wedding to Twilth,
and feeling lonely without him. We ran into a quite a few Herpetads while chasing
cats, and got very very drunk. What fun! After reeling around and mumbling for a
while Twilth showed up, and we decided to go to the plains north of old balengil's
farm.
After stagering about some more, and talking about the ever vicious and frightening
savage wild kepborators we headed off, picking up Deebo in the Orchard on the way.
We made good time to the plains thanks to Twilth's skillfull navigation, and once
there began to hunt recklessly. I think our excessive sillyness wore on Zorak's
nerves a bit much, he didn't seem very pleased with us. Although I admit that
Twilth and Catlin's excessive wawing and petting and general verbose love making
was a bit much for me as well. :-)
When we finally started back to town I thought perhaps I could find a quiet moment
to talk to Zorak about his complaints. I guess I should have found the time sooner
though, as halfway back through East Forest he cut off through a short cut, deserting
us to find our own way back.
